A Hunger Games concert tour is coming to the UK this summer.

The show follows previous set-ups where movies like La La Land and Jurassic Park were scored live by an orchestra.

The first movie in The Hunger Games franchise will get the same treatment on this tour, as Jennifer Lawrence’s exploits in the fictional world of Panem will be soundtracked by a 60-piece orchestra and the OST’s composer, Oscar nominee James Newtown Howard.

The tour, which will begin in Manchester on July 12, will coincide with the 10th anniversary of Suzanne Collins’ first Hunger Games book, on which the film was based.

Jenefer Brown, Lionsgate Senior Vice President of Global Live and Location Based Entertainment, said in a press release: “We’re thrilled to continue expanding the world of The Hunger Games with this incredible live music and film event.

“James [Newton Howard] was an integral part of the success of The Hunger Games, scoring all four films, and bringing his renowned score to audiences is the perfect way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this global phenomenon. The Hunger Games in Concert tour will add a fresh dimension to the world of this iconic property for new and existing fans everywhere.”

Newton Howard added: “The first Hunger Games movie was one of those rare films to combine epic storytelling, memorable characters and challenging musical opportunities. I am thrilled that people will have the chance to experience The Hunger Games again in this live setting.”

The Hunger Games in Concert tour dates are as follows:

    Manchester, Bridgewater Hall (July 12)
    Liverpool, Philharmonic Hall (13)
    London, Royal Festival Hall (14)
    Birmingham, Symphony Hall (15)

Tickets are available here now and are priced between £39.50 and £66.

The Hunger Games is one of several themes to be featured in a new Lionsgate theme park. Set over 1.3 million square feet in South Korea, Lionsgate Movie World will form part of the larger Jeju Shinhwa World park and feature seven themed worlds based around the franchise, Now You See Me, Divergent, Saw, The Cabin In The Woods, the upcoming film Robin Hood, and The Twilight Saga.
